Claudio Martinez discovered Street Arts and Circus during the circus convention in Santiago, Chile, after 25 years career as an editor of programs and colouring in the post production area, including 10 years in Chilefilms. Excited by this new world, Martinez decided to leave Chilefilms and create his own production company, “Tanto”, with the objective of creating independent audio visual pieces that showcase community art and culture.

 

 “AN IMPORTANT OBSERVER OF STREET ART AND CIRCUS”

 

Since then, Claudio became an important observer of Chilean Street Art and Circus, art forms which are growing each day in value, attracting more and more artists with a passion to share their Art on every street corner in Chile.

His experience as a travelling film maker and his keen eye has transformed him in the official film maker of events such as the National Circus and Street Art Convention, Street Invasion Festival, Charivari and the Valparaiso Circus Convention.

 

This 2015, Martinez received the Fondart (Funds granted by the Chilean National Council of Culture in the form of an annual competition) for the “Circoteca” project, an online audiovisual catalogue from the last 20 years of contemporary Chilean circus and street arts.
